Key Responsibilities:

The fundraising volunteer provides a range of support activities. The goal of the position is to assist in successful operations of the mission of Keta Foundation in order to ensure that projects achieve funding targets.

Major responsibilities (the following is a list of possible activities for a volunteer but not an all inclusive list nor is any volunteer expected to fill all of these roles.)

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of a coordinated fundraising program.
  • Planning for and managing of fundraising events.
  • Handling donor acknowledgements and thank you letters.
  • Identify donor prospects and research donor prospects.
  • Data entry and maintenance of the data base.
  • Solicitations of corporate sponsors, financial gifts, and gift-in-kind donations.
  • Interacting with donors and conducting donor meetings.
  • Development of donor materials, presentations, and mailings.
  • Serves as an ambassador for the organization and promotes a positive image/ reputation of the ministry.

Qualifications (required, desired):

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Available by phone and Internet.
  • No previous felony convictions: subject to criminal background check.

Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week; days.

Key Responsibilities:

  •    Monitor and locate relevant news stories in non-profit, government, media, and healthcare.
  •    Post short paragraph descriptions on these stories that are thoughtfully written
  •    Locate and post relevant story artwork.
  •    Generate originally researched, feature stories or other web content as required on a weekly basis.

Required Skills and Experience:

  •     Excellent copy writing skills
  •     Good project, time management and ‘people’ skills
  •     Creative and challenging mind-set
  •     Strong background in writing and journalism
  •     Computer knowledge (web, software, etc.)

Description:

We are currently seeking a social media/marketing intern/volunteer(s) to support our awareness efforts.  We are looking for a dynamic social media/marketing intern who thrives in the start-up and/or non-profit environment and who wants to apply his/her knowledge of online marketing and social media to help us with our early launch and growth while making a difference in the world.  Help us spread the word faster and create ways to enable our future community of readers, donors and community supporters to introduce our efforts and share the benefits with others.

Key Responsibilities:

  •     Help us improve our customer insight (customer segments, motivations and potential usage habits) and identify the right online channels to reach potential users.
  •     Assist with managing and expanding blog/site and social media presence (Facebook, Twitter)
  •     Support the creation and delivery of supporting communication materials including website, email writing, messages for all online collateral.
  •     Monitor, measure and assess their success through analytical dashboards and make recommendations for potential future channel ad spends.
  •     Assist with the development of affiliate/content partnerships and relationships  with other non-profit organizations.
  •     Monitor and report on relevant non-profit, government, media and healthcare news and act upon this intelligence.

Reports to: Director Corporate and Foundation Relations

Description:

The Development Assistant is responsible for all administrative aspects of development and public relations activities.

Scope and Impact:

This position will report directly to the Director Corporate and Foundation Relations, along with the board of directors as necessary.

The Development Assistant plays an important role by providing administrative support to the Development Officer and the Board, and by participating in all fundraising activities including donor and public relations, direct mail appeals, and special events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process donations and prepare acknowledgement letters and other correspondence.
  • Maintain foundation, corporation and individual donor files.
  • Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed.
  • Continually update and correct database records.
  • Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate foundation and individual donors.
  • Coordinate productions and mailing of spring and year-end appeal letters.
  • Track tax credit donations in the database and keep a file for each tax credit donor.
  • Send appropriate documentation to process credits to donors.
  • Answer donor questions regarding tax credit programs.
  • Maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fund-raising events.
  • Handle all administrative details associated with the Institutional Advancement Committee meetings (i.e. prepare and distribute notices, agendas, minutes, etc.).
  • Prepare media materials for distribution. (i.e. copying, filing, mailing, e-mailing)
  • Assemble media and donor kits for events and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director Corporate and Foundation Relations.

Possible Performance Measures:

  • Number of donations, program sign-ups/registrations processed and acknowledged weekly.
  • Success in maintaining accuracy of database records.
  • Accuracy of fundraising reports.
  • Success in coordinating the production of direct mail/e-mail/social media appeals.
  • Success in maintaining donor hard copy files.

Preparation and Knowledge:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Database management experience
  • Proficiency with online giving platforms/crowdfunding platforms – such as FundRazr, GoFundMe, Classy and others
  • Proficiency in contact management software, such as Salesforce
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Description:

Do you have experience in the non-profit sector working as a Grant Writer? We have an opportunity in the non-profit arena for a professional and energetic Grant Writer.

Key Responsibilities:

The position reports to the Founder/President, as well as the Board of Directors where necessary, and is part of a team. This person must be multi-tasked and must be able to work independently. Writes grants to secure new funds and complete grant continuations packets for existing grant funded projects. Identify and develop funding sources. Articulate our position summations, reports and other formal business correspondence.

  1. Write grant proposals and reports to foundations and corporations as determined by the grants calendar and grant reporting requirements.
  2. Manage a busy grants calendar across multiple program areas.
  3. Develop and steward relationships with our current and prospective Grantors to meet our mutually beneficial needs.
  4. Research corporations and foundations to meet new program and capital funding needs.
  5. Work collaboratively with development team to coordinate corporate underwriting campaigns.
  6. Collect and summarize program and budget results submit reports to Grantors on time.
  7. Support Directors in execution of annual fund and publications, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have a bachelor’s degree and/or three years’ experience with provable track record in successful grant research and writing. Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and calmly under deadline are necessary qualities.

Qualifications Desired:

The ideal candidate writes persuasive, clear, concise proposals; has experience soliciting local and national foundations and corporations; meets deadlines and juggles multiple priorities; and maintains a professional work style. Experience managing a growing grants schedule is desired. Ideal candidates would see the position as a growth opportunity within the grants, research and campaign developmental areas.
